The organization for families affected by SCN2A all gathered in Denver this past weekend, to have roundtable discussions on treatment options, to meet each other and be able to share stories and lives, and to gather more resources and even do testing on site.
I was so blessed to be able to offer a short mini session for each family that signed up! These caretakers give and give, and never do family photos because it’s so hard with their special needs kiddo. This was such a fun gift to be able to do for them! I loved my time with each family, and was blown away at the love and compassion and care that I saw over and over.
I often think my life is hard, but these families are living with something very hard day in and day out. Yet the joy they had was consistent throughout. Something to ponder for sure. Maybe we are happier when we are giving…
