Haha! Bet I almost scared you off with that title, huh? OB to everyone in most of the country means Obstetrician or a certain brand of tampons. Imagine my surprise and horror when I met a certain hot Californian when I went away to college and he had an OB sticker on his truck window. What could this mean? How embarrassing. I wonder if he knows that someone stuck a tampon sticker on his window.
WELL, come to find out that OB means Ocean Beach in Southern California. Silly me. I have to admit that I still get hung up on the letters sometimes. I saw an advertisement for “Sally Jones: Your OB and Point Loma Real Estate Specialist.” I seriously thought, “Huh, what a strange combination of jobs.” DUH Angela – that is after I have been around the term OB for 12 years now! Anywho, enough about me being blonde and pregnant at the same time.
We just came back from a 2 week family trip to San Diego. I know, it’s rough that my in-laws live a mile from the beach. We all make sacrifices to see those we love people. I took a ton of great pics that I am sure I will share along the way, but for today, I wanted to share these gems.
There was a farmer’s market/street festival in OB (the place not the tampon!) one afternoon we were there. I cannot explain in words what this place in like. It has it’s own culture. I seriously could not staring the first time I was there. Pete describes it as a place that old hippies go to die. It is just very different from the Kansas I had known when I was first introduced to it. Very, very interesting people I must say.
I took my camera when we went down there and I will let the photos speak for themselves. Just imagine smelling some weed and hearing some reggae music in the background, and you are as good as there! Enjoy this trip to the OB (better than most!).
