I know you guys have been worried that I have been sitting around watching soap operas and eating bon-bons. (Are those even a real thing? I would not know a bon-bon if it jumped in my mouth.) Well, I haven’t. In true Angela fashion, I have taken on way too many things and spend most of my time frantically trying to get things done, or sitting in a trance, trying to figure out which thing I should work on next.
Work has been so busy, which is SO amazing. I still don’t understand why I get calls and emails almost daily from people, offering to pay me money just to take their pictures. I really am very blessed. But, I also have a million other interests outside of photography, and these three little people that call me “mom.” My hamster wheel is spinning frantically and I am trying to not trip and go flying out of it.
For some reason, the fall is when I get inspired to do things to my house. I have no idea why this happens, but I have to go with it, or my winter self will never get it done. Here are a few of the things I have somehow managed to finish in last few weeks!
This fun little project is an addition to my guest room. The room has no place to hang anything (aka closets) so I figured this might come in handy sometime in the future. Plus, I just liked it. It jumped into my head, so I did it. 🙂
This was a window in my guest room…looking out into the playroom. Kinda creepy and weird. I had curtains over it, but then had the idea to chalkboard paint it! Now I can write fun messages to our guests!
I got a wild hair one night and decided to whitewash my brick fireplace while Pete was at small group. It was dangerous because there was no going back. Thankfully I love it. I also painted the gold on my fireplace so it no longer screams “I WAS MADE IN THE NINETIES!!!!”
Made these signs for my church! I hadn’t made any wood signs in a while and forgot how much I love it!
I also made these signs for our church communion tables. I had so much fun with these! This was brand new wood, but I “aged” it by banging it with a hammer, hitting nails into it and just doing anything I could think to make it look worn. It was good for getting some aggression out. I love how these turned out.
This project just about did me in. It actually wasn’t that hard, but felt like it took forever. I have zero patience when I start a project. I want it finished yesterday. Anyway, I scraped the wallpaper off the textured walls, then nailed all those boards to the wall, then painted like 3 coats of white over it all. It’s supposed to have the feel of bead board without the price tag. I think I like it. I mean, it’s done and I’m totally not doing it again, so I LOVE IT.
Oh, wait, where did these come from?! Sorry, you just gained five pounds by looking at these. I also spent a day (yes, it somehow takes almost an entire day) making Pioneer Woman cinnamon rolls. One recipe makes about 6 pans like this one. If I ever owe you a favor, you should request these.
Hope you enjoyed seeing what I have been up to! It’s back to photo editing for me! I am forcing myself to be done with projects for at least a month. Besides finishing our bedroom… I may have a problem.
