I found a GEM

So, long sad story: we almost lost a lot of pictures that were only saved on Pete’s computer.  I know, I know.  I backup all my clients files twice, but somehow had totally blanked on backing up all my own from our early married years (we were WAY hotter then) and precious pictures of Camryn’s first year.  Had I lost those I would have been deh-VUH-staaated.  Mainly because I don’t remember it at all.  I was in “what-the-crap-just-happened-here-first-baby mode.”  Anyways, in sorting through the pictures, I found this gem – a picture of us finishing our first marathon.

A couple thoughts:

  • Was I really that skinny?  Maybe someone should have made me eat a hamburger, or two.
  • I distinctly remember being torqued at Pete at this very moment because he made me pass that woman you can see behind us.  I was CLEARLY dying and he seems to be enjoying himself.
  • He grabbed my hand because he wanted to go across the finish line together since we ran the whole thing together.  The results said I beat him though.  I can lord that over him the rest of my life.
  • I married a Ken doll.
  • Maybe there will be a day when I can do this again with my best friend (which is Pete for those of you not following along).  For now, this parenting small children thing is enough of a marathon.  A WAY longer one.  But perhaps more enjoyable. 🙂
